So another holiday and another blog update! Managed to fit in a trip back to Australia for my sister’s wedding (which went really well) but the flight is horrifically long. Had a fantastic time catching up with friends and family, enjoying the weather and achieving my bucket list of Australian “Things I’ve missed…”
But the main point for this blog is to let you know about an adventure I’m having in July that I need your help for! No more sitting there passively reading – I’m looking for some donations to UNICEF and I’m happy if there’s some conditions on your donations. Any amount will be of assistance and greatly appreciated. I have paid for the actual trip (accommodation, food, ferry ride etc…) so your donation goes straight to UNICEF.
Fundraising GOAL!
I’m looking to fundraise 1200 pounds (about $1850 AUD) and just to put that amount into a real world application it comes out to:
· Teacher training and hygiene teaching tools for 15 schools in Myanmar OR
· 6000 pencils and exercise books for schools OR
· 3 tonnes of porridge for children in emergency or refugee camps
Obviously this is slanted towards my interests (schooling and helping children) – but UNICEF does all sorts of amazing work around the world.
So What?!
If you’d like to donate then the easiest way would be to go to this website:
Just be warned – since I’m living in the UK this website is all in pounds. So if you’re in Australia take that into consideration.
Also – as an added incentive – if I manage to reach this amount I’ll make a deal with you possible donators. I’ll try to join the Swiss Alps bike ride as well - so if you want to see me do even more exercise then donate away!
